Despite California's low national ranking in public school investment, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) remains a premier destination for families by leveraging local education foundations to overcome its status as one of the state's least-funded districts. This model of community-driven support allows our schools to maintain exceptional academic standards and a stellar performance record, proving that the dedicated involvement of parents and neighbors is the true cornerstone of our students' success.
As a parent-led 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Bella Vista Education Fund (BVEF) plays a critical role in bridging the funding gap by securing the financial resources necessary for programs, staff, and equipment that fall outside the standard state-funded budget. By providing these essential services and curriculum enhancements, the foundation ensures that Bella Vista Elementary students receive a comprehensive educational experience that would otherwise be unavailable. This includes:
Staff:
- (3) Instructional Assistants for math and reading who provide targeted, individualized instruction in small groups based on need from intervention to enrichment.
- (3) Classroom Paraeducators who support all students and teachers in each grade level which promotes more individualized attention for all students, enhanced classroom management, and student and teacher support.
- Additional weekly hours for our School Librarian so that all students have access to the books and resources in the library on a regular basis.
Technology: Software, hardware, apps, and peripheral equipment. While we are fortunate to have the newest school in the school district, our classroom AV equipment (projectors and document cameras) are now over ten years old and nearing end of life meaning it is time to upgrade. This technology refresh is made possible largely through the contributions of the Bella Vista Ed Fund.
Programs: Various enrichment programs, STEAM activities, musical instruments, library books, school assemblies.
It is of utmost importance that we continue to provide as much support to our students and teachers during the school year. Our reading and math Instructional Assistants are preparing to provide small group instruction to students during the school day. Our Classroom Paraeducators will be available to assist teachers and students as needed.
Enrichment activities are still a large part of what shapes a well-rounded academic experience for our students. All Bella Vista Trailblazers will continue to be provided with music classes with our certificated music teacher. Our librarian is working to make library and literacy a continued focus for all students. Finally, we aim to continue to refine and enhance our STEAM program this year as we move forward with continuing to develop this initiative. Ed Fund supports our STEAM program with activities and materials for our Maker Space.
With the support from our families to the Bella Vista Education Fund, we can give students a well-rounded education and many opportunities for exceptional experiences during their elementary school years here at Bella Vista Elementary School.
